A nonprofit organization, the Adult Learning Center in Spartanburg, SC is governed by a 11-member board of community leaders. The ALC board is responsible for the success of the organization. They set the overall goals of the organization, plan for current and prospective programs, and oversee the organization’s fiscal strength.
Moreover, it is the board’s responsibility to hire, evaluate, and support the director of the ALC. Our director is the one who manages the day-to-day operation of our organization.
Our board members also help secure resources for the ALC. Some volunteer in the front office or as tutors.
Each member serves a three-year term and is selected because of their passion for adult education as well as their experience in a variety of fields. The current members represent the fields of education, marketing, finance, accounting, law, healthcare, social service, and business management.
